Water is symbolic of life, renewal, wisdom, power and connection to the earth.

I’ve always had the knack of being able to repurpose items that no longer serve their intended purpose and make them into something new.

I started creating these outdoor water features when we moved to our dream home in the Sierra Foothills of California.  I realized that after moving in, the road noise was distracting and I wanted an innovative way to drown out that noise and create a more peaceful environment in my yard.

I started looking at fountains of all sizes and became a bit obsessed with how they worked. I decided that I would put my new obsession to work and make one of my own.  I was given a pedestal sink that someone was getting rid of, and I spent an afternoon constructing my first fountain using the sink, a bucket filled with water and a water pump.  It turned out exactly as I had hoped!

Guests would often comment on how beautiful my fountain was and were always surprised  that it wasn’t purchased anywhere, but that I made it myself.  I started to make more fountains for friends and family by using whatever I could get my hands on.  I was encouraged to start offering my creations to the general public and that is how Unique Yard Fountains came to be.

All of the fountains are made from items that were no longer useful in their current state. Except the Pump and plumbing are New.

If you have purchased one of my fountains please EMAIL photos!
